Asauji is a type of peas that is small and green. The pods grow one at a time. It takes about 30-35 days for the flowers to appear after planting. The pods are about 8 cm long, curved, dark green, and narrow. The peas inside the pods are round and there are seven seeds in each pod.

ARKEL

The Arkel variety of peas is a special kind that comes from France. The plant is small in size, but it grows really well and can reach up to 45 cm in height. The flowers of Arkel are pretty and white, and they grow in pairs on some of the lower parts of the plant. The pods are dark green and about 8.5 cm long. They curve inward along the seams and have wrinkled seeds inside. This variety is great for both eating fresh and for drying to use later.

LITTLE MARVEL

Little Marvel is a small plant with wrinkled seeds that originally came from England. The pods are a dark green color. The first flower appears after about 40 days from planting, typically at the 9th or 10th node. The pods are 8 cm long and grow one at a time. They are thick and shiny and contain 5-6 very sweet seeds.

JAWAHAR MATAR

The Jawahar Matar variety of peas was developed in Jabalpur by crossing T19 and Early Badger, and then carefully selecting the best plants. The height of this plant is about 70-75 cm, and it has a bushy growth habit. The pods are light green in color and have a roundish-oval shape. Inside the pods, you’ll find 4-5 wrinkled seeds. The first harvest can be done approximately 50-55 days after planting the seeds.

HARBHAJAN (EC 33866)

The Harbhajan variety of peas was created in Jabalpur through careful selection from exotic genetic stock. It is an early type of peas, and you can start harvesting the first batch just 45 days after planting. The pods of these peas are small and contain yellow, round, and small seeds. On average, this variety yields about 3 tons per hectare of pods.

BONNEVILLE

The Bonneville pea variety was brought to the USA and has become very popular. The plants are of medium-tall height and often produce flowers in pairs. The pods are light green, straight, and large, containing 6-7 well-filled, sweet, bold, and wrinkled seeds. The first flowers appear after approximately 65-70 days from planting. However, this variety is vulnerable to powdery mildew disease.

LINCON

The Lincon pea variety has medium-tall plants. It usually produces double pods, and the pods are dark green, curved, and large, containing 8-9 wrinkled seeds. The first harvest from this variety can be done around 85-90 days after sowing the seeds. On average, this variety yields about 10 tons of pods per hectare.

PUNJAB 88 (P-88)

The Punjab 88 variety of peas was created in Ludhiana through careful selections from the hybrid offspring of the cross Pusa02 × Morriss-55. The plants of this variety are small in size but strong and stand straight with dark green leaves. The first harvest for this type can be done after approximately 100 days from sowing the seeds. The pods are dark green, long, and slightly curved at the center, containing 7-8 green, wrinkled seeds that are less sweet compared to other varieties.

AZAD P-2

The Azad P-2 variety of peas is a type that is resistant to powdery mildew. It was developed at Kalyanpur through a selection process from the cross Bonneville × 6587. The plants of this variety are tall and stand straight with light green leaves and white flowers. The pods of Azad P-2 are of medium size, light green, straight, and smooth.
